Residents, businesses and non-organizations which sustained damage from the July 24 tornado have a Sept. 29 deadline to apply for disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration.

The tornado damaged 181 homes at an estimated cost of $2.6 million, primarily in the Laurelwood Estates and Lighthouse Pointe mobile-home communities.

Loans up to $200,000 are available for repairs and to replace damaged real estate. Homeowners and renters can apply for loans up to $40,000 to repair or replace personal property.

The SBA declaration also covers Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Marion, Orange, Putnam and Seminole counties.

Business loan applications can also be downloaded from sba.gov/services/disasterassistance. Those affected by the disaster may apply for disaster loans from SBA's secure Web site at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela/.
