Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has denied claims that foreign loans obtained by the government is three times more than the amount stipulated in the state budget for 2009.

Tymoshenko was speaking on the Ukraina television channel on Friday.

The information that borrowings are three times more than the amount planned in the budget is not true, Tymoshenko said.

Tymoshenko also denied claims of misuse of budget funds.

She called on representatives of the Party of the Regions to file a complaint with the Prosecutor-General's Office if they have evidence of corruption in her government.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers is proposing that the parliament limit the state debt in various currencies to the following amounts as of December 31, 2010: UAH 183.426588 billion, USD 10.895553 billion, SDR (the International Monetary Fund's special drawing rights) 3.125 billion, EUR 1.174398 billion, and JPY 19.440045 billion.

According to the Presidential Secretariat, the government concealed the real figure for the proposed maximum state debt by the end of 2010 because UAH 193 billion is actually UAH 340 billion at the cross exchange rate.
